IETM Munich 2018

Einleitung

Im Herbst 2018 waren München und Bayern Gastgeber für das halbjährlich stattfindende Plenary Meeting des IETM ( International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts), einem der ältesten und größten Kulturnetzwerken. 525 Akteure und Kunstschaffende aus 43 Ländern tauschten sich vom 31.10.-4.11.2018 auf dieser Plattform kulturell und kulturpolitisch aus.

Das Plenary Meeting stand unter dem Motto RES PUBLICA EUROPA – die gemeinsame Sache Europas, das öffentliche Wohl Europas – und wurde mithilfe lokaler und regionaler Akteure sowie Netzwerkpartnern gestemmt.

Im Gesprächsprogramm ging es vor allem um die Rolle der Künste bei der Entwicklung der zukünftigen europäischen Gesellschaft. Insgesamt 58 SprecherInnen und ModeratorInnen boten Formate von Newsrounds (Kurzpräsentationen von Mitgliedern), Talk of the Day (halbstündige Keynotes im dialogischen Prinzip) über Panels (Podiumsdiskussionen), Working Sessions (Impulsreferate, Q+A) bis zu Info Cells und Informal Activities (Meet the Artist) an. Die einzelnen Tage waren in große thematische Felder unterteilt:

Veranstaltungszentrum war der Gasteig, das Abendprogramm fand in Münchens Szeneorten statt, die Premeeting trips in Augsburg und Moosach. Leitung und Organisation lag beim Meta Theater München in Zusammenarbeit mit IETM und Kooperationspartnern wie: Bayerische Akademie der Schönen Künste, Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste, Berufliche Fortbildungszentren der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bfz) gGmbH, Dachverband Tanz Deutschland, Fonds Darstellende Künste, Gasteig GmbH, Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, HochX Theater und Live Art, Institut für Theaterwissenschaft LMU München, ITI Germany, Iwanson International, Lothringer 13, Netzwerk Freie Szene München, NPN, Pasinger Fabrik, Pathos Theater, Politik im freien Theater, Schauburg, Tanztendenz München, Verband Freie Darstellende Künste Bayern, Villa Waldberta, WhiteBOX Kultur gGmbH.

Das Theaterprogramm präsentierte einen Ausschnitt der deutschsprachigen freien Theaterszene. Unter den Gesichtspunkten EUROPA, PARTIZIPATION und ZUKUNFT hatte eine Fachjury 10 aussagekräftige Produktionen ausgewählt. Insgesamt wurden 17 Vorstellungen an sieben Münchner Spielorten realisiert. Mit 905 Zuschauern lag die durchschnittliche Auslastung bei 75 %, behindertengerechter Zugang wurde in allen Fällen berücksichtigt. Die Produktionen waren:

Introduction

In autumn 2018, Munich and Bavaria hosted the IETM Plenary Meeting which takes place twice a year and is co-organised by a local team and by IETM (International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts), one of the oldest and biggest cultural networks. Between October 31 and November 4 2018, 525 professionals of the performative field met and shared their views and ideas on a cultural and political level.

This Plenary Meeting had as a motto RES PUBLICA EUROPA – the common cause and the welfare of Europe – and involved local and regional players as well as other network partners.

The day programme revolved around the role of the arts within the development of a future European society. 59 speakers and moderators offered formats such as Newsrounds (short presentations of members), Talk of the Day (30 minute long keynotes, held as dialogues), Panels (open discussions), Working Sessions (introductory speeches, Q+A) Info Cells (practical information) and Informal Activities (Meet the Artist). The days each had their own special theme:

The evening programme presented a selection of the independent German theatre scene. A jury of experts had chosen 10 significant productions highlighting aspects such as EUROPE, PARTICIPATION and FUTURE. 17 performances were shown in seven Munich venues, seen by 905 visitors (an average of 75% of the full capacity).
